DOH&S WORKSAFE AWARD

ZERO WASTE Foundations were presented the WorkSafe Award for substantially reducing the risk of workplace injury for roadworkers

“ Our selection is not based on price alone, we also took into consideration the safety and saving aspects. ZERO WASTE Unbreakable Foundations allow quick replacement of items with no further effort required to the base, (providing a significant cost benefit in replacing the damaged item by re-using the existing footing) and reduces risk of injury to employees by reducing time spent on traffic islands exposed to traffic.”

"THE NO.1 CAUSE OF INJURY"
BODY STRESSING

One of the greatest costs to road authorities is workplace injury , with the number one cause of injury being Body stressing resulting from digging and heavy labour,

Instead of spending hours digging up valuable foundations items can be installed in seconds and effortlessly removed using ergonomic tools from a standing position, facing traffic

"THE NO.1 CAUSE OF SERIOUS INJURY"
WORKING IN TRAFFIC

The Number 1 cause of serious (or fatal) workplace injury is working in traffic.

Until now WA has had very little congestion but with rapid urbanisation this problem is about to get whole lot worse

With deteriorating infrastructure a global problem roadworks are becoming more common, resulting in a dramatic increase in driver aggression.

In the  UK road workers now undergo self defence courses to improve workplace safety

There is an emerging public health concern regarding silicosis in the construction industry and in particular, the road repair sector.

Silica occurs in many types of stone and concrete. Road repair workers are regularly exposed to airborne silica dust from activities that create airborne dust.

Inhaling fine silica dust can lead to serious lung diseases, including fibrosis, silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung cancer.

It is estimated that in Australia over 230 workers will die every year from exposure to silica dust. We can now put an end to this growing concern

IMPROVED DISASTER RESPONSE
AND RECOVERY

With global warming we are experiencing extreme weather conditions, floods and fires

It is imperative we become more proficient at preparing for, and recovering from, natural disasters. By making infrastructure (signage and barriers) easily removable and relocatable greatly improving your ability to prepare for and respond to natural disasters

Barriers and signage can be installed in seconds to notify drivers of flood zones or block off access to dangerous areas. Far safer and more secure than temporary signs and bollards.

If you want to install signs to notify the public of flooding; reduce speed limits; to block off a street with barriers or bollards it can be done at moment's notice, it's fast and efficient as items remain safe and secure and can only be removed by authorised persons

Clean up following natural disasters would be substantially faster, reducing delays in getting traffic back to normal conditions and keeping our roads safer.

UNDERGROUND SERVICES
FAST GROWING CONCERN

Fifty years ago underground services were extremely limited but now have hundreds of thousands of underground services and hitting any one of these can be very expensive, even fatal

All workers must dial before they dig but sadly many services are poorly mapped causing major confusion and potential injury to road workers continually digging up foundations. To overcome these inconsistencies the area must be scanned for underground services and a permit is often required to excavate before the work commences.

SAFER EVENTS MANAGEMENT

ITEMS REMAIN PERFECTLY ALIGNED & SECURE

You can install sockets to secure all barriers/ tables/ shade covers/ bins/ signage for events (all items interchangeable) in seconds and remove them just as quickly.

Multi-use space

You can remove a bollard and cap off the socket so it can be walked for driven over, or install a sign/ seating/ tables/ bins - as required. A city can be transformed from day to night

Barriers and other items secured using ZERO WASTE Foundations remain perfectly aligned safe and secure and cannot be removed or relocated by unauthorised persons

Great for such things as fences and crowd control barriers & bins, seating and tables that are used for annual events. All items are simply dropped into place in seconds remaining safe & secure, perfectly aligned for the event and are removed quickly when event is over.
